Poppy Cottage, is the original farm cottage to Ivy Cottage Farm, making a traditional 'Dales Longhouse' and is believed to date back to the late 16th Century. The cottage which is internally linked to the main house, has its own private entrance, stairs, guest lounge and dining room and private decked south facing gardens, along with ample private parking for four cars. Guests will enjoy the privacy of the cottage yet benefit from the service provided by their hosts, Steve and Sally and sons Jordan & Ben. In particular the 'Hearty' Yorkshire breakfast, served using bacon and sausage from their outdoor reared pigs, eggs from the hens and ducks which roam freely, all served in what was the original farm kitchen.
Ivy Cottage Farm is no longer a working farm, more of a small holding where you can watch the hens and ducks happily going about their business with wonderful open countryside to the rear and the delightful 'attached' Poppy Cottage. Lovingly restored, with many original features still intact, all typical of a traditional Dales farmhouse.
..this family run Guest House is the perfect place
for those long weekends, midweek breaks
..and is certainly a 'place to remember'.

And finally, in case you're interested, some history..
Ivy Cottage Farm was a working farm up until the late 1970's when the land was sold off and it became a private residence. The farm cottage (now known as Poppy Cottage) with attached barn - a traditional Dales longhouse, is believed to date back as far as the late 16th century. The attached barn was converted in the early 1990's to link to the cottage forming one long house.
